America is a very funny and addictive place. Especially if you happen to end up living there for quite a while, like generations. For centuries, people from the world over have settled in America. Whether they were Chinese, Italian, Irish, Israeli, Iranian or whatever, they all ended up calling themselves American.
The food was the same. A typical American diet had recipes from all these cultures, and more! Each being subtly changed over the years, generation by generation until each made the food their own. It all became American food.
Pasta has become a staple food for people throughout the world but nowhere else has it made itself more at home than in America. Of course being American, we can’t leave well enough alone. So here are some “Botak” presentations of some American/Italian dishes.
Now I have made some very good friends in Singapore who happen to hail from Italy. I mention two, Nino from Porta-Porta and Alessandro “Alex” DiPrisco from Al Forno East Coast. I treasure their friendship and adore their food. Neither of them had anything to do with this menu. Guys, if I offend your palates or fine Italian sensitivities in any way, please forgive me.

Ciao Alex, Ciao Nino, Ciao Y’all!
